Build Kamloops is full steam ahead, developing future projects

KAMLOOPS — The Build Kamloops project is now full steam ahead after the borrowing was approved by the city council on Tuesday (April 9). The group already has developers who will begin construction on the new performing arts centre as early as this year.

“We’re very excited to get going with the progress that we all envisioned. You know, for years. It’s exciting to see some of the contracts for the Kamloops Center of the Arts, being awarded, so you’ll see right here, development over the next two or three years. We’re hopeful that development will start as soon as the fall of this year,” said Kelly Hall, Build Kamloops Committee Chair.

Build Kamloops’ focus now shifts to the future, with a focus on developing the Mt. Dufferin arena complex.

“We’re excited for the arena complex up at Mount Dufferin. We’ve had a group of staff who have toured the province of B.C., looking at fairly new facilities. Coming up with ideas. It’s an exciting time for us,” said Hall.
