LILLOOET, B.C. — Three people are in the running for the vacant council seat in the District of Lillooet.

Kevin Aitken, Marg Lampman and Jonah Timms filed their paperwork ahead of the April 4 deadline, in the hopes of succeeding Rolf de Bruin, who resigned on Jan. 10.

Lampman is a former mayor of Lillooet who was elected in 2014 but lost in 2018, while Timms ran for the BC Green Party in Fraser-Nicola and finished in third place in the 2020 and 2024 provincial elections.

Aitken, meanwhile, also served on Lillooet council between 2014 and 2018 alongside Lampman and incumbent mayor Laurie Hopfl, who was elected in 2022.
