
Second closure of Clearwater emergency room in 2025 to last for 22-hours
CLEARWATER, B.C. — Residents in the Clearwater area will not have access to emergency room services until 8:00 a.m. Sunday (April 6).
In a news release issued just after 11:00 a.m. Saturday (April 5), Interior Health announced the last-minute ‘service interruption’ at the facility, which they note took effect at 10:00 a.m., making this a 22-hour closure.
This is the second emergency room closure of the year at the Dr. Helmcken Memorial Hospital, after a 13-hour closure back in February.
This latest closure in Clearwater comes as residents in the Lillooet area navigate another 49-hour stretch without emergency room services. The ER at the Lillooet Hospital and Health Centre is not expected to reopen until 8:00 a.m. Monday (April 7).
