KAMLOOPS — Phaedra Idzan is the first NDP candidate for the riding of Kamloops-Shuswap-Central Rockies, which was established after the 2021 federal election. She plans to focus her campaign on unaffordability in her large rural riding.

“Jagmeet Singh and the NDP, we’re all about affordability. We’re all about the working people — not billionaires, banks, big corporations. Right? We’re in it for the little people. That’s what drew me to all of this,” Idzan told CFJC Today. “I want to bring a voice to rural communities. Our riding is huge. It goes all the way from Kamloops to Field to Armstrong. Issues are different but similar.”
