Merritt man wins $200,000 on scratch ticket

MERRITT, B.C. — The City of Merritt had another big winner with thanks to a lucky scratch and win ticket.

Robin Coutlee was playing the “Sparkling Riches Scratch and Win that he purchased at the 7-Eleven on Nicola Avenue when he scratched three crowns.

He then scanned the ticket to see what he won, then gave the ticket to the cashier just to ensure that he had won $200,000.

Coutlee plans to save most of his winnings.
