LILLOOET, B.C. — For the 11th time in the last 30 days, and the second time this week, the emergency department at Lillooet Hospital and Health Centre will temporarily close.

Interior Health says emergency services will be unavailable in Lillooet from 7:00 a.m. Thursday (April 3) to 8:00 a.m. Friday (April 4). A reason for the temporary closure was not provided in a news release issued Wednesday night.

While all other inpatient services will continue as normal at Lillooet Hospital, residents in the area in need of life-threatening emergency care are asked to call 9-1-1 or make the near two-hour drive to Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops.

Overall, it’s the 12th temporary closure of the Lillooet emergency department in 2025. If emergency services in Lillooet resume at 8:00 a.m. Friday, the local emergency department will have been closed for 358 hours in 2025.
