KAMLOOPS — It was a March to remember for Kamloops native Sawyer Mynio, as he cracked the Canadian Hockey League’s (CHL) Team of the Month for the first time this season.

The 19-year-old Mynio had three goals and 12 points in nine games with the Calgary Hitmen to close out the Western Hockey League (WHL) regular season. While he was held off the scoresheet in the Hitmen’s final game, Mynio shared the scoring lead among all WHL defencemen in March.

The Vancouver Canucks prospect strung together an eight-game point streak to start the final month of the WHL regular season, and finished with nine goals and 26 points in 31 games since he joined the Hitmen in early January.

Over the 2024/25 regular season, Mynio tallied 14 goals and 45 points in 49 games split between Calgary and the Seattle Thunderbirds. He also added three assists in four games as the Hitmen became the first team to advance to the second round of playoffs.
