COLLINS: Are you kidding me?

I’M TOTALLY IN SHOCK over how easily Prime Minister Mark Carney got bowled over by President Trump.

Since the president put his tariffs in place, Canadians have risen in anger against the roughshod and illegal tactics by the Trump followers, all of them seemingly wanting to move from a democratic society to an authoritarian one. One ruled by one person.

So our Prime Minister calls President Trump. They talk for half an hour. In the meantime, Trump adds more tariffs. Then he and the prime minister both say the meeting was very successful and will form the basis for agreements after the election when they talk again. Please say it ain’t so!

Our leaders all say we’re not backing down, but Trump has already won the battle. When he can call a meeting successful, you know he’s going to get what he wants. He’s a bully and an intimidator. He cannot be trusted. He’s a liar and a cheat.

If this goes ahead, we will lose any leverage we have. We have to work to some degree with the U.S. But we have a chance here to do some good for our country. Establishing trade relations with more countries so we can cut the umbilical cord and have some independence, we can buy more functional fighter jets than the F-35s. Instead, Trump — and whoever comes afterward — will have us locked up and subservient to the greedy dictator south of the border without even a hint of pushback.

Are you kidding me?

I’m Doug Collins and that’s One Man’s Opinion.
