BARRIERE, B.C. — A stolen pickup truck was recovered near Barriere over the weekend.

Barriere RCMP say they were called to the 2100-block of Barriere Lakes Road on Saturday (March 29) where suspects reportedly broke into a storage container on-site. A black Ford F-150, chainsaws, a welder and other building materials were reported stolen.

In a news release issued Tuesday (April 1), RCMP say officers were later able to recover the stolen F-150. Police then executed a search warrant on a property in Barriere on Monday where most of the stolen items were recovered as well.

“We encourage all community members from the District of Barriere and Simpcw First Nation to contact our detachment to report similar instances or for information on how best to secure your property,” Cpl. Kyle Camalush, Barriere RCMP detachment commander states.
