Cash, drugs and guns seized after multiple traffic stops in Kamloops
KAMLOOPS — Cash, drugs and guns were seized following a trio of traffic stops in Kamloops late last week.
On Thursday (March 27), Kamloops RCMP say officers found a prohibited driver when they carried out a traffic stop on a vehicle known to be associated with a local drug trafficker. Police say suspected cocaine, fentanyl and methamphetamine were seized, the vehicle was impounded, and the driver received a court date.
Hours later at around 2:00 a.m. Friday, RCMP say officers stopped a vehicle on Seymour Street in downtown Kamloops where a man was found with a handgun inside a suspender strap. Ammunition, cash and drugs were also seized, and the man was later released with conditions and a court date.
Finally, on Saturday at around 10:00 p.m., RCMP say officers patrolling Hillside Way carried out a traffic stop on a vehicle previously seen at a home associated to drug activity. A modified long-gun was seized, and two people were arrested for drug possession.
