KAMLOOPS – Wednesday morning, the Kamloops Y launched its ticket sales for the 2025 Y Dream Home Lottery. The organization will be at the Kamloops Home Show this weekend, selling tickets before opening the house up to the public on April 12.

“This is a little-over-2,300-square-foot home, three bedrooms, three bathrooms,” said spokesperson Bryce Herman. “This home is a beautiful family home nestled in Westsyde, which is really family oriented. There are walking trails, there are parks close by. This really is a beautiful home for a family, there is no doubt about it.”

Another unique feature of the home is the natural light. The house is net-zero ready, meaning it’s built to consume as little energy as possible.

Tickets for the home are on sale now and start at $100, or you can pick up five of them for $400, with the funds being spread to different good causes in the organization.

“The proceeds from the lottery are distributed in a couple of different ways, but over the last few years, what we’ve been really concentrating on is a real push towards mental health programs,” said Herman. “We all know that mental health is needed throughout our community. It’s sadly not something we’ve put a lens on for a couple of years and we need to. We’ve adapted and a lot of the funding will go toward that.”

The home sparks buzz around the community and also gets to showcase the work of the Canadian Home Builders’ Association Central Interior in partnership with Thompson Rivers University students.

“I have to say the excitement and the hype is constant every year,” said Herman. “It’s a great opportunity for hands-on learning. It’s a very unique approach to what goes on. For us in 29 years, there is something about the magic that has happened right here and it’s really our community that has embraced it.”

The Y 50/50 lottery has also been launched. You can buy tickets online, at pop-ups throughout the city, or when you visit the house at 3562 Sage Drive.
