Lillooet emergency department to close for 11th time in 2025
LILLOOET, B.C. — It’s not an April Fools’ joke.
For the 10th time in the last 30 days, the emergency department at Lillooet Hospital and Health Centre will temporarily close.
Interior Health says emergency services will be unavailable in Lillooet from 7:00 a.m. Tuesday (April 1) to 8:00 a.m. Wednesday (April 2). A reason for the temporary closure was not provided in a news release issued Monday night.
While all other inpatient services will continue as normal at Lillooet Hospital, residents in the area in need of life-threatening emergency care are asked to call 9-1-1 or make the near two-hour drive to Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops.
