Blazers’ Finnie named to WHL Western Conference Second All-Star Team

KAMLOOPS — It was a down season for the Kamloops Blazers, but the team’s captain has garnered a prestigious individual award.

The Western Hockey League announced Tuesday (April 1) that Emmitt Finnie has made the league’s year-end Second All-Star Team in the Western Conference.

Finnie drove the Blazers’ offence in 2024-25, finishing with 37 goals and 84 points in 55 games.

The 19-year-old from Lethbridge was 16th in the league in points and fifth in faceoff wins.

Finnie was selected in the seventh round, 201st overall by the Detroit Red Wings in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft.

Joining Finnie on the Western Conference Second All-Star Team is former Blazer Shea Van Olm, who registered 49 goals and 92 points in 66 games for the Spokane Chiefs this season.
