TNRD board sets average 2025 property tax increase at 5.9%
KAMLOOPS — Property owners in the Thompson Nicola Regional District (TNRD) will be hit with a tax increase averaging 5.9 per cent this year.
The district’s tax rate was set at Thursday afternoon’s (March 27) regular Board of Directors meeting.
In a news release, the district notes it is drawing taxation from a larger base this year, thanks to growth within the district. That means many property owners will see a tax increase less than 5.9 per cent — or may even see a decrease in their tax bills.
The district says new and increased expenditures for 2025 include previously negotiated wage hikes, as well as new positions for the Aberdeen Tiny Library, a facilities manager and an asset manager.
