Province chips in $1.14M to build Kamloops pilot plant for eco-friendly concrete ingredient
KAMLOOPS — On the heels of signing a multi-year federal funding deal, a Kamloops company has been awarded a provincial grant to continue producing an eco-friendly concrete ingredient.
In a news release issued Tuesday (March 25), the province says Progressive Planet will receive $1.14 million from the Innovative Clean Energy (ICE) fund.
Progressive Planet’s pilot plant is located on Sarcee Street in the Mount Paul Industrial Park.
The company uses recycled glass to produce a supplementary cementitious material (SCM) called PozGlass. The process helps shrink the significant carbon footprint of making cement.
