100 MILE HOUSE, B.C. — It’s do-or-die for the Kamloops Storm as they gear up to face the 100 Mile House Wranglers in game six of the KIJHL second round playoff series Saturday (March 22) night.

Kamloops native Luca D’Amore scored the only goal in game five Friday night but the Wranglers retook the lead and held on for a 2-1 win, and a 3-2 advantage in the Doug Birks Division Final.

Ethan Davey opened the scoring for the Wranglers in the opening minute before he scored the winner early in the second. D’Amore scored his 10th of the playoffs at 8:33 of the first period to lead all skaters in playoff goals

Storm goaltender Brenner Fyfe stopped 34 of 36 shots in a losing effort, while Tyson Endall made 38 saves on 39 shots.

Game six is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. at McArthur Island Saturday night. A Storm win will force a game seven in 100 Mile House on Monday night.

The winner of the Birks Division Final will face either the Revelstoke Grizzlies or the Princeton Posse in the Okanagan Shuswap Conference Finals. The Grizzlies lead the Bill Ohlhausen Division Final 3-2, and host game six Saturday.

No Kamloops Storm team has reached the third round of the KIJHL playoffs since 2015.
