LILLOOET, B.C. — The emergency department in Lillooet will temporarily close for another two-day stretch.

Interior Health says emergency services at Lillooet Hospital and Health Centre will be temporarily unavailable from 7:00 a.m. Wednesday (March 19) to 8:00 a.m. Friday (March 21). It comes following another 49-hour closure from 7:00 a.m. Sunday to 8:00 a.m. Tuesday.

It’s the sixth temporary closure for the Lillooet emergency department in 2025 and the fifth in March.

All other inpatient services will continue at Lillooet Hospital and Health Centre, but residents in the area in need of life-threatening emergency care are told to call 9-1-1 or visit Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops.

Elsewhere, the 100 Mile House emergency department temporarily closed Tuesday (March 18) at 7:00 p.m. It’s the fourth time emergency services at 100 Mile District General Hospital will be unavailable in 2025, with all four closures taking place in March.

The 100 Mile House emergency department is expected to reopen at 8:00 a.m. Wednesday. In the meantime, residents in the area can call 9-1-1 or visit Cariboo Memorial Hospital in Williams Lake.

Reasons for the temporary closures were not provided in news releases issued by Interior Health Tuesday night.
