KAMLOOPS — The 100 Mile House Wranglers have taken the lead in their Kootney International Junior Hockey League (KIJHL) playoff series with the Kamloops Storm.

The Wranglers beat the Storm 4-2 in Game Three of the Doug Birks Division Final at McArthur Island Monday (March 17) and took a 2-1 lead in the best-of-seven series.

The Wranglers got out to a 2-0 lead after the first period before Luca D’Amore put the Storm on the board three minutes in the second period. However, the Wranglers would respond nearly five minutes later and take a 3-1 lead into the third period.

D’Amore scored his second of the night and team-leading seventh goal of the playoffs 3:47 into the third to get the Storm within one goal again. The Storm peppered Wranglers goaltender Tyson Endall with 13 shots in the third period, but they could not find the equalizer.
