Emergency departments in 100 Mile and Lillooet to temporarily close for most of Monday

100 MILE HOUSE, B.C. — The emergency departments in 100 Mile House and Lillooet will be temporarily closed for most of Monday (March 17).

Interior Health says the ER at 100 Mile District General Hospital will be temporarily unavailable from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, while the closure at the ER at the Lillooet Hospital and Health Centre has been extended by another 25 hours to 8:00 a.m. Tuesday (March 18).

The Lillooet ER has been closed since 7 a.m. Sunday (March 16).

Reasons for the latest temporary closures were not provided in separate news releases issued Sunday.

Residents in both communities and their surrounding areas in need of life-threatening emergency care can access Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops or call 9-1-1. Residents in 100 Mile House and area are also encouraged to visit Cariboo Memorial Hospital in Williams Lake.

The emergency department in Lillooet will be temporarily closed for the fifth time in 2025, and the fourth time this week. The 100 Mile House emergency department will be temporarily closed for the third time in 2025, with all three closures taking place in March.
