Lillooet ER to close for third time this week; fourth closure of 2025

LILLOOET, B.C. — Lillooet and area residents will be without emergency room coverage for another 24 hours this weekend.

Interior Health says the ER at the Lillooet Hospital and Health Centre will be closed from 7 a.m. Sunday (March 16) to 7 a.m. Monday (March 17). Residents are once again being told to make the two hour trip to Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops if they need emergency care.

This is the fourth ER closure of the year in Lillooet and third of this week, following a 49-hour closure Monday to Wednesday and a 25-hour closure Thursday to Friday morning.

A reason for the temporary closure was not provided by Interior Health, though it says people who need life-saving emergency care should call 9-1-1.

As has been the case during past emergency room closures, Interior Health also says people who aren’t sure if they need to head to the emergency room are being told to contact HealthLink BC at 8-1-1.
