Construction begins Saturday on second turning lane for Trans-Canada off ramp to Pacific Way

KAMLOOPS — A heads up for motorists in Kamloops, the Highway 1 off-ramp near Pacific Way will be closed for roughly six weeks, starting Saturday (Mar. 15).

Construction will begin this weekend to add a second westbound turning lane off the highway and onto Pacific Way.

The project was identified as a necessary change for growing traffic volumes back in 2015, after the former Lake City Casino on Victoria Street moved to the current Cascades Casino location on Versatile Drive.

The city says the work will come at a cost of $3.4 million, and is expected to wrap up by the end of June.
