Rockslide closes stretch of Highway 1 east of Canoe

SALMON ARM, B.C. — A stretch of the Trans Canada Highway between Salmon Arm and Sicamous will be closed in both directions for most of the day.

DriveBC first reported of a rockslide on Highway 1 nearly two kilometres east of Canoe at around 10:45 p.m. Wednesday (March 13).

Cleanup and assessment is underway. DriveBC says another update is due at 3:30 p.m. Thursday.

A detour is available via Highways 97A and 97B.
