Nearly 3,000 North Shuswap residents lose power Thursday

SCOTCH CREEK, B.C. — Power was knocked out to thousands of North Shuswap residents Thursday afternoon (March 13).

On its website, BC Hydro says the outage, affecting 2,973 customers, began at about 4:20 p.m.

Communities without power include Scotch Creek, Celista, Magna Bay and Anglemont.

It’s believed a tree fell across power lines, leading to the outage.

Crews were expected to arrive on scene and begin their repairs at about 5:45 p.m.
