Thief crashed stolen truck through Williams Lake tire shop’s bay door: RCMP

UPDATE (March 13): The truck stolen from the OK Tire location in Williams Lake has been recovered.

In an update, Williams Lake RCMP say they found the stolen vehicle near the tire shop on the 600-block of Oliver Street. Additionally, police say they identified two people of interest.

“Two people were found in proximity to the vehicle and were spoken to. This investigation is still ongoing,” RCMP state.

EARLIER: WILLIAMS LAKE, B.C. — RCMP in Williams Lake are investigating a destructive auto theft from a local tire shop.

In a news release, media relations officer Cpl. Brent Vivier says police were informed of the incident at 12:35 a.m. on Tuesday (March 11). The business involved was OK Tire in the 600-block of Oliver Street.

Surveillance video from the tire shop shows a suspect breaking into the business, stealing a truck and driving it through a garage bay door.
