70 MILE HOUSE, B.C. — RCMP say a 64-year-old Vancouver man is facing a second-degree murder charge in connection with the 2021 death of a man in 70 Mile House.

In a news release Saturday (March 8), the Southeast District Major Crime Unit says Chinh Duc Vu was arrested on Friday and charged with the death of 52-year-old The-Thanh (Ted) Nguyen.

Nguyen was found unresponsive by Clinton RCMP officers who responded to a house in the 2600 block of Komori Road in 70 Mile House on Dec. 26, 2021. According to police, Nguyen was found lying at the threshold of an outbuilding, where he was pronounced dead.

Police also said that a suspect was arrested as he fled south through Clinton, about 30 kilometres south of 70 Mile House. That suspect was released the following day without charge, pending the conclusion of the investigation.
