Westsyde Whundas reach semifinal at B.C. High School Basketball Championships

LANGLEY — The Westsyde Whundas need one more victory to qualify for the gold medal game at the AA Boys B.C. School Sports Basketball Provincial Championships, which are taking place this week at the Langley Events Centre.

No. 4-ranked Westsyde knocked off No. 5 St. Michael’s University School of Victoria 73-63 in quarter-final action on Thursday (March 6).

Kiyo Brown led the Whundas in scoring, with 21 points.

The Whundas will square off against No. 1 Pacific Academy of Surrey in semifinal action on Friday, with game time scheduled for 7:00 p.m.

No. 3 Collingwood of West Vancouver and No. 2 Summerland will play in the other semifinal, an 8:45 p.m. start.
