KAMLOOPS — Organizers of the 11th edition of Radiothon on B100 Thursday (March 6) are elated as the event helped raise $650,243 for the Royal Inland Hospital Foundation.

RIH Foundation CEO Heidi Coleman says this year’s event surpassed all expectations.

“Look what the city did. Look what our community and the region did and with the help of Jim Pattison, the people loved the match and we’re so grateful for that,” Coleman said.

“We raised an unbelievable record breaking amount.”

Jim Pattison, the Chairman and CEO of the Jim Pattison Group, the parent company of CFJC Today, matched all Radiothon donations up to $200,000.

Coleman also said it was heartening to see the generosity of people from Kamloops and surrounding communities who rely on RIH donate to the hospital. The foundation was hoping to raise $400,000 this year to check off items on the hospital’s equipment wish list.

“Everybody here is in it together and we all need this place,” Coleman said. “Hopefully not too often. But when you do, let’s make sure that everybody has what they need.”
