Merritt emergency room closed again Friday night

MERRITT, B.C. — For the seventh time in the past two weeks, Interior Health has announced a temporary closure of the emergency department at Nicola Valley Hospital in Merritt.
IH says the ER will close at 6:00 Friday evening and reopen at 7:00 a.m. Saturday.
No reason is listed for the closure and all other inpatient services at the hospital will continue as normal.
Merritt-area residents in need of emergency medical attention are asked to visit Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops or call 9-1-1.
