COLLINS: The red horde has unleashed its first salvo

Mar 6, 2025 | 8:43 AM

THE WHITE HOUSE is starting to look like party central. The White House and Capitol Hill should be the most formal buildings in the country. But then you have Donald Trump, Elon Musk and the rest of the red state clowns making the halls of dignity a joke. These people have, in a matter of a couple of months, brought the level of prestige from a dignified 10/10 to a place among the depths of hell.

And to prove how ignorant they are, their plan for extending their power base is to pick fights with people they should be befriending. The way the president and vice-president ganged up on Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on the weekend was horrible to watch. All done to satisfy the whims of Trump and Putin.

To suggest that Zelenskyy shouldn’t have a place at the table is all about power. They have to have Putin there and, of course, Donald has to be there. We don’t need Zelenskyy. He’s just along for the ride, isn’t he?

In closing, a few musings. Donald, Elon, have a little dignity, and get rid of those god-awful MAGA caps. Elon, you look like the idiots who broke into the Capitol buildings on January 6 a couple of years back. And you look even worse when you bring your stupid chain saw to the party. Donald, same with your stupid red cap. It’s inappropriate and shouldn’t be part of the look of anyone’s wardrobe when representing your country.

And what surprises me is that none of these goofs understand how a power base is built — not by bullying someone into submission. We’ve already seen how that has worked out. No, you build power by building up credit, if you like. Help the Saudis, for example, work through a problem. Then they owe you. The more they owe you, the more pressure you can exert when you need help from them.

But Trump and his crew won’t learn the lesson until it’s far too late. They’ll still be trying to figure out why those hats didn’t work.

I’m Doug Collins and that’s One Man’s Opinion.
