SURREY — One week after receiving a sizeable provincial grant, a Shuswap company that builds mushroom-picking robots has won an even larger federal grant.

4AG Robotics in Salmon Arm has been awarded $2.5 million from Ottawa’s Business Scale-Up and Productivity Program.

The grant was one of seven announced by federal cabinet minister Harjit Sajjan in Surrey Monday (Mar. 3), totalling $18.3 million.

Sajjan says 4AG will use the grant funding to scale up its harvesting technology by expanding manufacturing, hiring more workers and growing global sales.
