Rob Kerslake elected new Barriere mayor; Brody Mosdell elected to council
BARRIERE B.C. — Rob Kerslake has been elected as the next mayor of the District of Barriere.
Kerslake, who was serving as councillor until he resigned to run for mayor, beat Bill Humphreys by 429 votes. He got 453 votes to Humphreys’ 24, approximately 95 per cent of the total ballots cast for mayor.
Kerslake was first elected to Barriere council in 2018 and was re-elected in 2022. Humphreys served one term as mayor between 2011 and 2014.
Brody Mosdell, the youngest candidate on the ballot, was elected to fill the vacant seat on council as Kerslake was required under the Local Government Act to step down in order to run for mayor.
