SALMON ARM, B.C. — Miraculously, no one was seriously injured or killed when a vehicle crashed through a wall and entered deep into a medical clinic in Salmon Arm.

According to Salmon Arm RCMP, a red SUV crashed into the medical clinic at around 1:30 p.m. Thursday (Feb. 27) and came to a stop against an interior wall.

In a news release issued Friday morning, RCMP say the driver, a 78-year-old woman, was sober and uninjured. However, one woman was struck by the SUV in the clinic, and they were sent to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

“Driver confusion appeared to be a major contributing factor in this incident. No criminality was suspected. There was potential for a lot more injuries, or worse in this incident,” Cst. Andrew Hodges says.
