Merritt emergency room to close for second consecutive night

MERRITT, B.C. — For the second night in a row, the emergency department in Merritt will be quiet Wednesday night (Feb. 26).

Interior Health (IH) says the emergency room at Nicola Valley Hospital in Merritt will close at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, reopening at 7:00 a.m. Thursday.

IH does not list a reason for the closure, which is the fourth of 2025 for the community.

Local residents who need emergency medical care are urged to visit Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops or call 9-1-1.
