
NorKam Secondary placed on brief hold and secure after nearby Monday morning assault
KAMLOOPS — NorKam Secondary was put on a brief hold and secure Monday (Feb. 24) morning after an assault took place near the school.
Kamloops RCMP say a large police presence was visible at around 8:45 a.m. Monday as officers responded to the 700-block of 12th Street on the North Shore. In a news release, RCMP say one person was assaulted with a weapon and sent to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Police say one person at the scene was arrested.
“The police response was still active and ongoing at the time of this release,” Cpl. Dana Napier, Kamloops RCMP spokesperson says. “Residents are asked to please use caution in areas where officers are attending and avoid the area if possible.”
