Kamloops Fire Rescue put out vehicle fire on Columbia Street in front of Royal Inland Hospital

KAMLOOPS — A vehicle caught on fire on Columbia Street Monday (Feb. 24) morning.

The call from the westbound left turn lane on Columbia Street at Third Avenue came over the scanner at around 8:00 a.m. when Kamloops Fire Rescue (KFR) discovered the vehicle fully engulfed in flames.

KFR extinguished the vehicle minutes later. Crews requested a tow truck over the scanner, and the City of Kamloops’ webcam shows one has arrived.

As of publication, the city’s webcam shows one lane is open eastbound and westbound in the 300-block of Columbia Street.
