
COLLINS: So much work and so little money
ASIDE FROM THE EFFORTS of Donald J. Trump and Elon Musk to get their sweaty hands on our money and our country, there have been needs that deserve a resolution. And those needs cost money — whether it’s health care, the economy, climate change… the list drags on. While we’re assessing the latest Trump conspiracies, we need to present a strong presence to let him know we’re going to bump up our resources to prevent getting stabbed in the back.
But while dealing with the swine below the 49th, we also have to deal with problems here at home. David Eby is pulling the same old, same old — promising windfalls of gold, but only delivering fool’s gold.
For example, when have you seen a health notice that DOESN’T have a boil water advisory for Savona? Or a high water level advisory for the Merritt area? These have gone on far too long, Mr. Eby, and it’s time for you to get rid of the rhetoric.
While we have to deal with the president, I think our bigger need right now is protecting our environment and our health. Whatever the fading Trump is planning, these attacks on issues won’t stop. And while we might have to bite the bullet for a time and fire up our laptops to keep on top of things, a few small victories will help buoy our spirits as we make plans to deal
