Blazers shutout by Eastern Conference-leading Tigers

MEDICINE HAT, Alta. — The Kamloops Blazers were shutout for the first time this season as they were fell 5-0 to the Eastern Conferenceleading Medicine Hat Tigers Saturday (Feb. 22) night.

Gavin McKenna and Oasiz Wiesblatt had two assists each for the Tigers, as the Blazers managed just 22 shots on the goal of Jordan Switzer, who was named first star on the night.

Goals from Hunter St. Martin and Ryder Ritchie had the Tigers up 2-0 after one, before Kadon McCann, St. Martin, and Niilopekka Muhonen added to the scoresheet in the second period.

Dylan Ernst allowed five goals on 19 shots as he made his first start in nearly a month due to injury. Logan Edmonstone stopped all 25 shots that he faced in 32:06 of relief work, as neither team was able to score in the final period at the Co-op Place.
