THUNDER BAY, Ont. — It’s the end of the line for Corryn Brown and Team BC at the 2025 Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Thunder Bay, Ont.

The Brown foursome from Kamloops – which also features Samantha Fisher, Sarah Koltun and Erin Pincott – were beaten 10-5 by Nova Scotia’s Christina Black in the three versus four page playoff game at Fort William Gardens Friday (Feb. 21) night.

“It think we were a whisker away from a couple of shots,” an emotional Corryn Brown said in a post-match interview. “If I make my shot, I think it was in two or three, we get three there.”

“It was a game of inches that just didn’t quite go our way.”

Brown trailed 3-0 after two ends and 4-1 after four ends though they picked up a pair in the fifth to trail 4-3 at the break. Black however added two in the sixth and tenth ends and one each in the seventh and ninth to pick up the five point win.

Team Brown exits the tournament with a 6-3 record and a top-six finish, their best showing in their fourth appearance at the Scotties. Lead Samantha Fisher and second Sarah Koltun were all named First Team All-Stars alongside third Tracy Fleury and skip Rachel Homan of Team Canada.

“I think we were one of the best teams here,” Brown said of their performance. “We were really consistent through all our games and I think we just had more to give [so its] unfortunate that our journey ends here.”

“I’m really proud of how the girls played, really proud of myself, but its a tough way to end a really good week.”

Brown’s other two losses were against Alberta’s Kayla Skrlik and against the still undefeated Homan rink. Skrlik and Black will meet Saturday with a spot in Sunday’s semi-final up for grabs.

Also on Saturday, Homan and four-time champion Kerri Einarson will meet in the one versus two Page playoff game. The winner will qualify for Sunday’s final, while the loser will play in the semifinal.
