Nearly $26 million federal rebuilding dollars for Lytton committed to new community hub
LYTTON, B.C. — Nearly one-third of the $77 million the federal government committed to the Village of Lytton three years ago will go toward a new community hub.
In a news release issued Wednesday (Feb. 19), the federal government announced the concept plan for a new community hub will include a community-sized pool and fire reservoir, museum, recreation space, multi-purpose rooms, learning space and accessible washrooms. The government adds the hub on Fraser Street will be fire-resilient and be built to net-zero standards.
The federal government will spend nearly $25.9 million on the community hub, part of the $77 million committed in June 2022 to help rebuild Lytton into a fire-resistant and energy-efficient community. The Village of Lytton will commit just more than $400,000.
