Pacific Way off-ramp expansion project to begin next month: City of Kamloops

KAMLOOPS — The City of Kamloops says work to expand the westbound Pacific Way exit off Highway 1 will begin next month.
The project has been on the books at city hall for a decade, since Cascades Casino moved to its present location on Versatile Drive. In December, council voted to move the $3.4-million project ahead.
Starting March 15, crews will add a second left turn lane to the exit, increasing intersection capacity. The intent is to make the intersection safer by reducing traffic backup toward the travel lanes of Highway 1.
The city expects the project will wrap up by the end of June. The entire off-ramp will be closed for a four-to-six-week period during the project.
