Drug alert issued in Kamloops as tablet being sold as Percocet contains unknown amount of fentanyl
KAMLOOPS — Interior Health is warning the public of a counterfeit tablet being sold as Percocet in Kamloops.
In a bulletin distributed Tuesday (Feb. 11), Interior Health says the tablet that has “TEC” with a score line on the back does not contain oxycodone but rather an unknown amount of fentanyl. The health authority says there’s a very high risk of overdose if the tablet is ingested.
“Using illicit tablets is not recommended due to the very high risk of overdose. Be aware of risk of fakes, if not purchasing from a pharmacy,” Interior Health states.
A drug alert is in effect in Kamloops until Feb. 18, 2025.
