KAMLOOPS — The Kamloops Blazers’ losing skid extended to five games following a 4-1 loss at home to the Tri-City Americans Tuesday (Feb. 11) night.

Conner Radke gave the Blazers the start they were looking for by pouncing on his own rebound to give his team a 1-0 lead after the first period. A first in which they outshot the Americans 19-10.

However, the Americans would take a 2-1 lead after scoring twice in the second.

The Blazers couldn’t find the tying goal, peppering Americans goalie Lukas Matecha with 45 shots. The Americans added two late goals in the third period to secure the 4-1 win.

The Blazers fall to 18-29-4-0 on the 2024-25 Western Hockey League (WHL) season, good for 40 points in 51 games. They sit 10th in the WHL Western Conference and three points out of the eighth and final playoff spot.

The Blazers welcome the Kelowna Rockets for a Valentine’s Day rivalry love affair Friday (Feb. 14) at 7:00 p.m. from Sandman Centre.
