Water main break results in temporary boil water advisory for Sun Rivers

TK’EMLUPS — Most of Sun Rivers has been placed under a boil water advisory as a result of a water main break Monday afternoon (Feb. 10).

A notice from Bluestem Utilities, which is the provider for the Sun Rivers area, says a repair has been made to the pipe, but the nature and location of the break has resulted in a precautionary boil water advisory.

Water needs to be boiled vigorously for at least two full minutes before being used for drinking, washing food, brushing teeth or cleaning dental and medical appliances, preparing baby food and infant formula or bathing infants.

Bluestem states the reservoirs are filling up and should be back to normal later tonight. In the meantime, all Sun Rivers residents are being asked to conserve their water use for the evening.
