Rangers recall former Blazers goaltender Dylan Garand from AHL
HARTFORD, CT — The New York Rangers have recalled former Kamloops Blazers goaltender Dylan Garand from their AHL affiliate, the Hartford WolfPack.
The 22-year-old Garand is expected to backup Jonathan Quick when the Rangers play the Columbus Blue Jackets Saturday (Feb. 8) night. It’s the Rangers final game before the 4 Nations Face-Off, which is being held instead of the NHL All-Star festivities.
While he has been called up a few times in the past, Garand is yet to make his NHL debut. This latest call up comes as Rangers starting goaltender Igor Shesterkin is expected to miss the next week or two with an upper-body injury.
In 23 games this season, Garand has a 12-7-4 record, a .913 save percentage, a 2.68 goals-against average, and three shutouts. He also represented the WolfPack at the 2025 AHL All-Star Classic.
