Large police presence descends on Brocklehurst area Friday morning

KAMLOOPS — UPDATE: RCMP say a large police response in Brocklehurst Friday morning (Feb. 7) was the latest development in an ongoing investigation.

Spokesperson Cpl. Dana Napier says Mounties moved in on a property in the 1700-block of Brunner Avenue at about 10:00 a.m. The response included a brief closure of Tranquille Road near Holt Street.

In addition to the Kamloops RCMP Crime Reduction Unit, the Southeast District Emergency Response Team (ERT) was also employed in the operation.

Napier says police executed a search warrant on the Brunner Avenue home.

No other details about the investigation were made available.

EARLIER: Friday morning (Feb. 7) saw a large police presence in Brocklehurst neighbourhood, with a section of Tranquille Road briefly closed as officers responded to a nearby home.

Details are limited, but Kamloops RCMP confirmed that officers were on scene at an incident before the noon-hour on Friday.

Several police cars were seen outside a home on Brunner Avenue, and members of the RCMP’s Emergency Response Team were set up along Tranquille Road between Desmond Street, and Holt Street.

There’s no confirmation on what prompted the response, or the nature of the incident.
