Blazers pick up a point against WHL’s best, fall to Silvertips 5-4 in overtime
KAMLOOPS — The Kamloops Blazers surrendered a pair of leads but ended up coming back to Canada with a point after a 5-4 overtime loss to the top team in the Western Hockey League (WHL).
The Blazers took on the Everett Silvertips on the road Sunday (Feb. 2) to wrap up a stretch of four games in five nights. Kamloops struck first in the final minutes of the first period where Vit Zahejsky fired the puck home from the left circle.
The Blazers kept momentum early in the second period where Kamloops’ Jordan Keller put back a juicy rebound on the power to make it a 2-0 game.
