RCMP seize drugs from vehicle in Valleyview bearing paper license plates
KAMLOOPS — Kamloops RCMP say paper plates are for barbecues, not vehicle tags.
In a news release issued Wednesday (Jan. 29), Cpl. Crystal Evelyn says officers were working in the 2100-block of East Trans Canada Highway in Valleyview at about 11:50 a.m. Tuesday when they noticed a suspicious license plate on a car.
Further investigation helped the officers determine the license plate on the white Chrysler 300 was a piece of paper affixed with tape. The car had not been reported stolen.
“A person was located in the backseat of the vehicle, but the alleged driver was nowhere to be found, nor was the registered owner,” said Evelyn. “Inside the vehicle however, police found about 100 grams of what appeared to be methamphetamine and fentanyl, along with paraphernalia indicative of drug trafficking.”
