KAMLOOPS — Local Mounties are crediting a North Shore man with helping recover his own stolen truck.

According to Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Crystal Evelyn, the man heard his truck being stolen from the 100-block of Angus Street on the North Shore Tuesday evening (Jan. 28) at about 9:15.

Because of his prompt and full reporting, officers caught up with the truck — an older model white, blue and green GMC pickup — a short time later on Kicking Horse Drive in Juniper Ridge. The driver was arrested.

“Thanks to the updates and information provided by the truck’s owner, frontline officers were able to quickly and safely take a suspect into custody without issue,” said Evelyn.
