Third quarter outburst powers WolfPack men to win over UNBC

KAMLOOPS — The TRU WolfPack men’s basketball team used a 23 point third quarter to come away with a 79-65 win over the UNBC Timberwolves Friday (Jan. 24) night.

Trailing 35-34 at halftime, the ‘Pack were able to hold the Timberwolves to just six points in the third quarter as they improved to 7-8. They’re in fourth place in the Pacific Division, with the top-five teams earning playoff berths.

Dami Farinloye led the WolfPack in scoring with a game-high 24 point and nine rebounds. Asher Mayan added 16 points and five rebounds, while Cyrus Harrison netted 10 points of and four rebounds.

Earlier in the day, the WolfPack women fell 76-60 to the Timberwolves in the annual school day game at the Tournament Capital Centre (TCC).

The two teams will rematch at the TCC Saturday afternoon, with the women’s game scheduled for 4:00 p.m. followed by the men at 6:00 p.m.
