KAMLOOPS — Kamloops RCMP say a man was taken to hospital with serious injuries after a shooting in Brocklehurst early Friday (Jan. 24) morning.

Police say officers were called to the 900-block of 13th Street around 2:05 a.m. to reports that a man had been shot. In a news release, Mounties say while the man was taken to Royal Inland Hospital, the extent of his injuries are not currently known.

They also believe that “several people” were involved in this morning’s shooting.

“While we are continuing our investigation, based on evidence gathered as this time, this incident does not appear to be random,” Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Dana Napier said.

RCMP say the Kamloops RCMP’s Serious Crime Unit, General Investigation Support team and Forensic Identification Section are all working on this investigation.

Anyone who may have witnessed the early morning shooting or has video surveillance of it is being asked to contact Kamloops RCMP and reference file 2025-2175.
